Work package 2

In WP 2, thematic coordinators from the consortium will review the RAMSOIL database and related literature, and will assess the differences (pro’s and con’s) between thematic RAMs on the basis of a series of criteria. These criteria include scientific understanding, complexity, scale issues, parameterization. Overlaps and contradictions in thematic RAMs are discussed and scientifically assessed. Whenever needed and possible, we will contact authors and users of thematic RAMs and include their findings in the assessment and provide documentation through the database. RAMs addressing more than one theme, will be assessed by all experts involved.

Objectives

3. Exploration of scientific basis for specific RAMs in terms of (scientific) documentation, robustness, (spatial and temporal) consistency, ambiguity, applicability, general applicability and validity
4. Organization and participation in workshop 2.

Description of work

2. Explore differences in terms of scientific basis, methodological approach, type of instrument, data requirement and availability.
3. Exploration of scientific basis for specific RAMs in terms of (scientific) documentation, robustness, (spatial and temporal) consistency, ambiguity, applicability, general applicability and validity.
4. Organization and participation in workshop 2 and to exchange knowledge on approaches and to fine-tune findings, interpret the results and produce a consensus table showing the evaluation of RAMs (look-up table) and prepare information and documentation for the website. This workshop demarcates the end of WP1 and the start of WP3.
